Some MPs still don't get it

Today's Straits Times (Insight section) had a feature of how PAP MPs are trying to change their ways so as to be (seen to be) more connected to the ground. They featured some quotes from some MPs prominently.

These guys seem not to get it still. It's just an image problem?
And see Zainudin Nordin's remarks - is his job just to "channel feedback upwards"?

"I have always consistently channelled feedback upwards, but now I must put in effort to be seen to do so, there should be more openness in communication in what I'm doing."
